A Busy Schedule

By Timothy Spaeth      As I grow older, I feel as if I never have any downtime. Day-to-day errands, chores, my son Xavier, work, food, mental stress, the need for entertainment and sleep are just a few of the many things that keep me occupied from the second I wake up, to the second I go to sleep. Upon review of an interactive online graph that compares the average hours per day spent on a given activity by a list of selected activities, created and maintained by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) with data from 2022, I realized that these activities give my life meaning; in other words, I realized these activities are my purpose. The activities mentioned in the graph that I related to the most include: "Personal care, including sleep; Eating and drinking, Household activities, Purchasing goods or services, Caring for and helping household members, working and work-related activities."
